SUMMARY:B&H Scoped Carbine
DESCRIPTION:Barrel & Hatchet Trade Group 2 day Scoped Carbine course is designed to equip the shooter with skills and increase their confidence in their equipment with the ability to engage targets at distance. This is a great course to see how far your rifle can stretch out with standard ball ammo and see its true potential with match grade ammunition. On day one students will go through proper equipment setup and developing their shooters checklist. Students will understand the benefit of properly gassed rifles and minimizing reticle movement. Every student will also shoot a very refined zero and have the opportunity to gather chronograph data on any round they bring. The student will spend a lot of time gathering data through fire on their rifle at different distances. The instructors will also have an in-depth discussion on use of reticles and shooting with a teammate or partner and different verbals to synchronize shooters. Students will be introduced to spotting and seeing trace to help spot for their shooting partner. The first day has a very heavy focus on the fundamentals of marksmanship as well as different shooting positions. On day two the students will focus on shooting off different barricades\, work through different drills and reinforce the knowledge learned on day one.  The Second day is designed to allow the student to combine all the skills they have learned to be effective in any position or off of any barricade. Students will learn about target transitions and fast engagements. Students will be placed in different exercises where dialing or holds  can be used to prosecute targets more efficiently.  Each shooter will be trained to look for feedback and adjust fire if needed to make an immediate fire correction to achieve accurate rounds on TGT. On Day two there will also be instruction on the benefit of tripods and show the student different applications that the tripod can be used effectively. Shooters will also use expedient improvised items to increase the shooter’s stability for further engagements. Final drills will be involved on day two in order to slightly stress the shooter and increase speed and accuracy on distant engagement scenarios. This course does require you to have a scoped optic I.E. an LPVO or an actual scope. We do teach distance shooting with dot & magnifier or prisms in our General Purpose Rifle course\, which you can find in our training page.   This course will help the shooter have confidence in themselves and the capability of their equipment. We are excited to train with you and hope to see you on the range! DESCRIPTION:Match starts: November 09\, 2024 @ 8:30 AM · Match ends: November 09\, 2024 @ 3:00 PM Location: 4418 Cooper Lane Holt\, Florida 32564 Impact Sports presents the DMR Precision Gas Gun Series at Silver Creek Range! This will be a 3-match series with matches being held on May 11th\, August 24th\, and November 9th. The safety brief will be at 8:30 am. Sight in Range will be open at 7:30 am for suppressed shooters and 8:00 am for unsuppressed shooters. Shooters are encouraged to check zero on their rifles before the match starts. The November 9th DMR Match will be a 8-stage event with 120 sec par time on each stage that incorporates positional shooting\, up-close encounters\, and distance shooting (850yds Max). This will be a great match for all types of shooters. Expect a minimum round count of around 90rds\, but it is highly recommended to bring at least double(You can always take it back home). There will be 4 divisions\, Recce Division is .223 and .308 with a 16” or less barrel and optics restriction of 12X maximum. DMR is .223 and .308\, with a 20” barrel restriction. Open Division is anything goes\, with no limit on barrel length or optic. The 4th Division is a Bolt Gun division with no restrictions. Shooters are allowed to register for up to 2 divisions for this match. This match will follow time plus points scoring format. All steel targets will have 1 impact unless the stage brief states otherwise and are hit to move. A target may be skipped\, but the shooter cannot go back to reengage and will time will automatically be par time. The range is considered a cold range so guns should be unloaded and magazines out with chamber flags inserted until under the make-ready order. Stages will be proofed with a 16” 5.56 using 77gr ammunition. Equipment required: Semi-Automatic Rifle\, 2 mags (3 is recommended)\, chamber flags. In the Alpha course  students will begin with zeroing equipment and gaining a solid understanding of the use of NVG’s and all equipment for night operations. Students will build a solid foundation of basic daytime tasks under the constraints of limited FOV (field of view) under night vision. The course is designed to build confidence using fluid adjustments of night vision devices and individual equipment. Students will also be exposed to different techniques to camouflage and hide from night vision devices as well as white light. This course drives the student to enhance and rely on other senses to make them as effective at night as they are in the day. In this course users will build their individual equipment and learn the lost skill of accessing their gear\, through touch and feel. Students will be able to avoid obstacles and also move quietly through local terrain and move in different formations while utilizing techniques to enhance their senses in conjunction with NVG’s. During this course students will have to solve basic and complex problems as a group and individually. Each bull is scored as 100\, 50\, 25\, 10 or 0. We use American Rimfire Association (ARA) rules. Any .22 rimfire rifle can be used along with any optic\, any magnification. Only two piece benchrests are approved for Factory class but Unlimited class can use one-piece. Match begins with unlimited sighters for 5 minutes\, then 25 shots for record four times. Best to bring at least 125 rounds. Setup and sign-in begin at 8am followed by a safety briefing at 830. First shots down range by 9am.
